H&M cat lady Clothes, clothes for cat ladies in training and maternity Stuff, too

April 9, 2023

We are cat ladies; hear us ROAR!

Or at least meow… Meeeeeow!

MAINOS

I was really feelin’ the cat lady love at the San Francisco Union Square H&M store yesterday, where I was perusing the maternity section, but it was hard to concentrate because I kept getting distracted by things like this charming outfit with a navy blue top and tiny short-shorts.

It has cats all over it!

Look at it styled on this mannequin with a taupe purse and black booties (the picture at the top). If I wasn’t so round at the moment, I’d be all over it.

They also had a white short-sleeve tee with a little pocket in the same print, but the fabric felt a little scratchy.

Super cute though.

Eventually, I focussed long enough in the maternity section to find this…

A pair of gray mama skinny jeans ($39). (Yup, they make maternity skinnies! who knew?!). I also got this stretchy jersey top ($12.99) (91% cotton, 6% rayon, 3% spandex).

I’m so glad I tried the top on because I wasn’t into the stripes when I saw it online.

I dunno why, but horizontal stripes are always up in the mix with maternity clothes, and I’m not always into them, but this piece felt really soft so I tried it on.

And I’m glad I did. I figure that I can always switch it up by layering it with scarves, partner sweaters, flannels and statement necklaces.

Couple things about H&M’s maternity stuff… Their tops fit true to size on me, so I didn’t have to size up or down. as for the denim, I’d go up one or two sizes because the hips are very slim, and if you find something you like, you might want to try multiple pieces in the same style and size, because the fit is all over the paikka! No two of the same size are alike.

Also, it looks like you can only return purchases by mail if you shop H&M online, so no in-store returns… Hrmpf!

Oh, for the record, there is a dire lack of cat-themed clothing for pregnant chicks, in case you were wondering. Why this has been allowed to happen, I have no idea, because it’s a travesty. If you’re an aspiring fashion designer who happens to be reading this, that’s an untapped market ideal there.

I did strike cat lady gold in the children’s section, though. Actually, “Cat lady in Training” gold. There are SO lots of cute cat-themed clothes for little girls and babies, and I would absolutely wear a lot of of them if they were available in adult size.

Like these shorts? If these shorts came in adult size, I’d be all over ’em.

Or these dresses…

This little gray dress with the colorful cat heads, tho!! I think I may have seen an adult wearing something like this once… Not a child, mind you, but a full-grown woman.

Think about it — with an oversized partner sweater and some black biker boots? NIIN SÖPÖ.

I’m very ecstatic about the prospect of dressing up a certain someone who’s going to be making her big debut in March.

I only got baby girl one thing in the store, but I really wanted to get this coat with the cat pockets. El Hub was like, “She’s not going to be old enough to wear it for a year. Why get it now?” so I set it down…which made me a little sad.

I did, however, get her this newborn onesie that says “Prrrrfect” in light pink under the cat (you can’t really see it in this pic). It also has matching polka-dot pants and a hat with cat ears and a pink bow.

I couldn’t resist.
